Win a One Year Membership to Paper Crafter’s Library November 1st Winners!

This past January Paper Crafter’s Library celebrated our first year anniversary – and in that time we have established ourselves as the THE all-in-one learning solution for paper crafters with the largest {and best} online library of video tutorials on the internet. From beginner through to advanced, covering product instruction, techniques and project ideas for stamping, card making, scrapbooking and altered art – we have something for everyone! We’re proud of how far we have come, and we’re hoping you can help us spread the word!

That’s why as part of our first anniversary celebrations we have an exciting new contest which we are running for a total of 9 months – where we will be giving away a total of 18 ONE YEAR MEMBERSHIPS to the Paper Crafter’s Library – each valued at $200! We will announce 2 winners at the beginning of EACH MONTH – we started in April, and we’ll be ending in December of 2012.

There’s several ways to enter, and each way gives you 1 entry into our draw – so the more ways you participate the greater your chances of winning:

1. Put our Fan Badge on the sidebar of your blog or website. In the right hand sidebar of our blog, under the heading “Grab Our Fan Badge” you’ll find a box with the html code which you just need to copy and paste into the sidebar of your blog.

2. Create a post on your blog letting everyone know they can win a One Year Subscription to Paper Crafter’s Library and linking back to this post for instructions on how to win.

3. Post about our give-away on your Facebook Page linking back to this post.

Once you have done any or all of these things, leave us a comment here on this post letting us know, with a link back to your blog or FB page and we’ll pop by for a visit. When you leave your name, make sure that if you don’t put your full last name, at the very least you put your last initial.

So how do you enter if you don’t have a blog or FB page? Simple, leave us comments on our daily blog posts. We love hearing back from you, we love your feedback and we read each and every comment. For every comment you leave on one of our blog posts* you get one entry into that month’s draw. * Please note Freebie Friday is separate from this contest – comments left for our Freebie Friday give-aways do NOT count as entries in this contest.

Remember, we’ll be running this contest for the next again next month, so be sure to enter to win. The next two winners will be announced at the beginning of December. Please note this contest is open to current Paper Crafter’s Library members – if you are a current member and you win, that time will be added on to the end of your subscription.

Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…the November’s winners

We’ll be picking two more winners in December – so if you’ve entered already but weren’t picked, there is still time to win! Make sure the badge is still there on your blog, put up another post or tweet or FB letting people know about our contest and then leave a comment here in this post linking back, or simply keep visiting and leaving us comments.

Holiday Love and Laughter Video Tutorial

Wow what a busy week this has been.  Halloween in now over and the kids are all on a sugar high!  Christmas shopping has now officially started in all of the stores.  I can not get over how quickly the change over happens!  I hope that you have enjoyed the posts this week and keep coming back next week for so many more Christmas ideas.

Holiday Love and Laughter

As I created this card, I wanted to let the super cute paper from the Mistletoe Collection by Bo Bunny shine.  I simply added a greeting, a candy cane image which I colored using my Copic markers (I just love coloring with my markers!) and a little twine to complete this clean and simple Christmas card.

Download the pdf handout here

Supplies:

Stamps: The Cozy Moments (Hero Arts)

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Tsukineko); YG13, R22, R24 and R27 Copic markers (Copic)

Have a great weekend!

Wishing You Love and Laughter

If you have ever though about giving Copic coloring a try, this would be a great card for you, as the image is made up of small sections, making it very easy to color.  Keeping this a clean and simple card, I finished off the layout with the large greeting and gorgeous Real Red Satin ribbon tied into a bow!  Stepping up the colored ornaments with just a few tiny rhinestones enhances each of the ornaments.

Trendy Tuesday – Potty People

Trendy Tuesday- Potty People
Katherine Elliots

Trick or Treat!  Did the name of today”s post scare you?  I hope not!

I have to admit I had to laugh when I got the word that Andrea had an interest in the trendy figures that are so aptly named, “Potty People.”  The name caught me off guard, but the images I instantly recognized.   You”ll recognize them, too, not just from the public restroom doors that they adorn, but from plenty of fun paper crafts.  Take a look…

These people appear on cards and scrapbook pages from stamps, digital designs, embellishments or die cuts.

Despite the fact that these people are supposed to represent a male or female, the style of the images is perfectly gender neutral.  That means you have a lot of options whether you are crafting for a man or woman.

While I was researching this trend, I found quite a few on-line chats about looking for these sets.  Some stamp sets are not that easy to find,  so I did some of the work for you and found some brands and sources.  Just check out the inspirational pieces and sets shown below…

Die cutter fans, you are not out of the loop either.  If your household has been blessed with an electronic cutter, then you can cut the perfect size Potty Person for your project.  Cricut”s Going Places cartridge has your basic Potty People and other sign images for many uses in your creative designs.

Here is a quick view to show you some of the images that are included on the cartridge (it”s hard to find a digital picture of all the options you have with these cartridges):

Project Ideas Newsletter Challenge: Let’s Get Together

Please note that Eastern Seaboard of the United States and Canada are currently under a weather alert due to Hurricane Sandy, and our area is one of those that will be affected. We have been advised that we may lose power for up to 72 hours – if that is the case then we will be unable to respond to your email questions/requests. If you do not receive an email response from us between Monday, Oct. 29 up to Monday Nov. 5th then please assume this is why.

With this in mind, we also may not be able to upload videos or posts to the Paper Crafter’s Library. So as with email, if you do not see any posts or projects uploaded to Paper Crafter’s Library this is why.

Please bear with us as we continue to work to provide our services to you.

Welcome to the Project Ideas Newsletter Challenge. Every Monday, we will design a card, scrapbook page or 3D item. Your challenge – is to use our piece as inspiration and make it into a card, scrapbook page, or other project. You can use the layout, the colors, an element you like…it can look like our piece, or nothing at all like our piece. We want to see where YOU take this. This challenge is strictly a “work from your stash” challenge. This week, Sophia designed this Let’s Get Together card.

As a newsletter subscriber you will have received a link to a private web page, from which you can watch the video tutorial. Please note that the video tutorial will be available for general viewing for one week only – and then will be moved into our library for our members only. In order to ensure you don’t miss any more of our Project Ideas Newsletter Challenge video tutorials, please be sure you sign up for our FREE email newsletter from the top right sidebar of this blog. If you didn’t receive the newsletter then please be sure to email us to confirm your subscription.

Every Monday, here on the blog, we’re going to post a picture of our project. You will have ONE week to upload your challenge piece. Instead of a weekly prize though, we’re going to award a prize monthly. So for each week you participate and each project you submit – you will get one entry into our monthly draw. On the first Monday of each month – we will announce one challenge winner, who will be featured as a guest designer on the Paper Crafter’s Library blog as well as our Facebook page. As a guest designer, we’ll feature your biography, some of your favorite paper crafting projects and we’ll link to your blog.

Here are the details on how you can participate in the Project Ideas Newsletter Challenge:

A new Project Ideas Newsletter video tutorial will be emailed out to newsletter subscribers every Monday (so make sure you are signed up). Then, here on the blog, we will post a picture of our project along with an Inlinkz button for you to enter your project. Here are the details:

•Work from your own stash to create a project based on the inspiration project provided – you can use any products you would like, and make any type of project you like – card, scrapbook page, album, 3D item etc.
•Post your project on your blog, in your gallery or on any other photo-hosting site (such as photobucket or flickr).
•Click on our inLinkz button below to add a link to your project for our challenge

Boys Will be Boys

I just love to watch my boys on their bikes!  They amaze me with the things that they can do.  I found these photos of my oldest son on my camera and just loved the determination he shows!  I wanted to create a page that showcased these photos with minimal embellishments, letting the photos take over the page.   I found that the colors in the Echo Park Boys Mini Theme Collection added the finishing touches to my page without over doing it.  I hope that you all love the simplicity of this page!

The 12 Weeks of Christmas Event is Almost Half Over

Are you subscribed to the 12 Weeks of Christmas?  If you are, then you are enjoying all the wonderful holiday projects.  If you are not subscribed, make sure you sign up so you don’t miss out on the remaining 7 weeks.  To subscribe to the 12 Weeks of Christmas Newsletter, visit my blog www.andreawalford.com, and enter your name and address on the right side bar of the blog.

Today’s project is this Be Merry card and coordinating envelope. Since Tracy created a 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ card, she needed an envelope that would fit her card.  As part of the video, Tracy shows you how to alter and embellish a standard size envelope to match her card.

As part of the newsletter, subscribers receive a link to a webpage containing a video tutorial and PDF handout.  This page  will only be available for one week and then will be placed in Paper Crafter’s Library, where our members can access it at any time.  To find out more about Paper Crafter’s Library or to join now, visit our Benefits Page here: https://blog.papercrafterslibrary.com/benefits-of-membership/

We hope you continue to enjoy the 12 Weeks of Christmas 2012 Projects.

Beautiful Fall Mini Album

The Little Yellow Bicycle desginer papers, page elements and embellishments made it really easy to create this Beautiful Fall mini album.  I was so inspired to create this album when the collection came into our studio!  I was thrilled to create the basic album but wanted something more.  I feel that the addition of the hidden photo pages finished off the construction of the album for me.  Creating memory keeping items like this is why I believe that I have the best job in the world, this just does not seem like work!

We have a video and PDF handout available for our members here.  (You must be logged in to view the page)
