I always find it so hard to get back into the swing of things after a long weekend – especially a long weekend like this one. My littlest guy Sam, who is 2 years old, ended up with an ear infection, so of course he’s been crabby, and my husband’s away on a business trip – so it was me and the 5 kids all weekend (and holiday Monday). I know the kids love long weekends, but all I can say is that while I enjoyed spending time with them, I’m also glad it was back to school today!
Today’s card is a fun and whimsical one that I really dug into my stash for – I used stuff from all over the place!
Not sure if you can tell from the picture but I used the Life of the Party Dots background stamp I got from that Hero Arts class at CHA to create a really subtle background on the Basic Gray patterned paper. I did it by inking the stamp up in Faded Jeans Distress ink, stamping off once and then stamping it onto the patterned paper.
Stamps: Birthday Bash Sentiments (Papertrey ink); Life of the Party Dots (Hero Arts)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie Classic ink (Stampin’ Up!); Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress ink (Ranger)
Paper: Pumpkin Pie textured CS, Whisper White CS (Stampin’ Up!); Harvest Gold CS (Papertrey Ink); Palace Blue Patterned Paper from Marrakech Collection (Basic Gray)
Dies: Nestabilities Labels 4 (Spellbinders)
Die Cutting System: Wizard (Spellbinders)
Chipboard: Lime Rickey Chipboard Sticker Shapes (Basic Gray)
Letters: Daiquiri Foam Thickers (American Crafts)
Other: black rhinestones (Papertrey Ink)

I need to use chipboard pieces more…cute card
Cute card. It reminds me that brads don’t have to be the center of a flower, or stuck in a corner, lol! Sometimes it’s easy to forget the little touches!
SO Cute! Love the Spellbinders nesties!!! One of my faves! 🙂
How sweet is this card!
Cuteness! It’s funny about kids. Sometimes the minutes feel like hours, but then you look back and the years feel like minutes. Hope your little guy is okay now.
