This past January Paper Crafter’s Library celebrated our first year anniversary – and in that time we have established ourselves as the THE all-in-one learning solution for paper crafters with the largest {and best} online library of video tutorials on the internet.  From beginner through to advanced, covering product instruction, techniques and project ideas for stamping, card making, scrapbooking and altered art – we have something for everyone!  We’re proud of how far we have come, and we’re hoping you can help us spread the word!

That’s why as part of our first anniversary celebrations we have an exciting new contest which we are running for the next 9 months – where we will be giving away a total of 18 ONE YEAR MEMBERSHIPS to the Paper Crafter’s Library – each valued at $200! We will announce 2 winners on the first of EACH MONTH – starting on April 1st, and ending January 1st, 2013.

There’s several ways to enter, and each way gives you 1 entry into our draw – so the more ways you participate the greater your chances of winning:

1.  Put our Fan Badge on the sidebar of your blog or website.  In the right hand sidebar of our blog, under the heading “Grab Our Fan Badge” you’ll find a box with the html code which you just need to copy and paste into the sidebar of your blog.

2.  Create a post on your blog letting everyone know they can win a One Year Subscription to Paper Crafter’s Library and linking back to this post for instructions on how to win.

3. Post about our give-away on your FacebookPage linking back to this post.

So how do you enter if you don’t have a blog or FB page?  Simple, leave us comments on our daily blog posts.  We love hearing back from you, we love your feedback and we read each and every comment.  For every comment you leave on one of our blog posts* you get one entry into that month’s draw. * Please note Freebie Friday is separate from this contest – comments left for our Freebie Friday give-aways do NOT count as entries in this contest.

Remember, we’ll be running this contest for the next 9 months, so you will have LOTS of opportunities to win.  The first two winners will be announced on April 1st, 2012. Please note this contest is open to current Paper Crafter’s Library members – if you are a current member and you win, that time will be added on to the end of your subscription.

Technique Thursday: Dry Embossing Using Clear & Opaque Embossing Paste

Every Thursday on Paper Crafter’s Library is Technique Thursday – This is where we create and feature projects for our Club 52 online class (our year-long technique club), which our Paper Crafter’s Library members also access as a free benefit of their membership. We’re now on week 28, and we’re learning how to dry emboss using clear & opaque embossing paste with our stencils.

If you’re interested in checking out what we’ve covered so far, you can look at our Club 52 page. If you’re a technique junkie and would like to learn new techniques (as many of them are ones we have created), or revisit old ones – you can still sign up from this page – you’ll be able to access all 28 weeks we’ve done so far, plus the remaining weeks, and your access to the classroom will last for 15 months.

Every Monday we create an exclusive project with a video tutorial for all of our newsletter subscribers and Paper Crafter’s Library members. March Design Team Projects by Ezlie Perez

Hello again! I’m happy to be here for my second set of design team projects!
First I have a scrapbook layout for you which showcases a faux quilt design. Follow along in my video on how to make this simple pattern and mix and match your patterned paper to get a beautiful accent piece. Don’t be afraid to use your sewing machine on your layouts – if I can do it, you can do it – trust me. And just by layering die cuts atop each other with a button makes such a simple design element to your layouts. I hope you enjoy this video tutorial for this project.

For my second project I wanted to first do a product overview of one of my favorite products – washi tape. If you are not familiar with washi tape, or you’re looking for a few ideas of how to use it, check out my product review video. Then afterwards, I made a video tutorial to make this cute card – using washi tape in a fun way. I hope you are inspired to try out washi tape in new ways and have fun using this great product.

And for my final project this week, I thought it would be fun to make a gift tag set. I’m always in need of tags to add to gifts, and by having one ready for any occasion really is helpful. So this tag set could be given as a gift or kept for yourself to use as needed. This video tutorial shows quick and easy stamping techniques used on each tag to make the set. Also the bag topper is included in the video tutorial. Have fun making these cute tags for all occasions.

Thanks so much for joining me. I really hope you are inspired with these tutorials. Check out my blog at madebyejp.com for more projects made by me! Have fun creating!

You will see her first article next week.  In the meantime, you can visit her blog here http://jkelliotcrafts.blogspot.com/ and see some of her own work.

Learn more about Katherine:

I’m a wife, dog mom and full-time office worker residing in a small, rural Missouri town.  Paper crafts & card making are my creative, artistic outlets from my otherwise routine work life.  I’ve been a stamp-a-holic since my sister took me to my first “stamp camp” over 5 years ago.

I enjoy making custom cards, invitations and crafts for friends, family and charity events, and collect way too many stamp sets, papers, punches and tools, but who’s counting?!  I also enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and spending time outdoors, and consider crafts as part of a healthy lifestyle – it is a great way to unwind.  I love checking out all the wonderful blogs our papercraft community has and learning new techniques and fun ways to combine technology and crafts together.  Then, I will bring it all to you.

I look forward to sharing it all on Paper Crafter’s Library.

March Design Team Projects From Michelle Joy Wecksler

Wow!  It’s hard to believe that it is already my second month on the Design Team!  Time is flying by!!!!  Spring is definitely in the air, or at least in my mind right now, so I decided I needed to play with flowers!  The Blossom Punch by Stampin’ Up! and the coordinating Mixed Bunch stamp set provided the perfect inspiration for the projects I designed for you this month.

When Spring is in the air I begin to think about cleaning out my closets and getting rid of clothes that are old or too worn.  As I looked in my closet this year, an old pair of jeans stared straight at me and I decided to do a bit of recycling!  I created this mini book with a skewer binding to hold my thoughts and dreams and the old back pocket from my jeans makes the perfect holder for the mini book!  If you are a Paper Crafter’s Library member and want to find the detailed instructions and videos on how I created the mini book and pocket just head on over to the Video Library.

Once I started punching out flowers with the Blossom Punch, I couldn’t stop!  I punched and punched and punched the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper from Sale-a-Bration.  All of those colors and patterns were the perfect way to bring Spring into my home, so I decided to online casinos create a wreath.

The Everyday Enchantment brads and ribbon (Stampin’ Up!) coordinated perfectly and some unbleached muslin provided the perfect online pokies backdrop for all of the colors of the wreath.  I even snuck in some Pear Pizzazz pleated satin ribbon!  Members can find complete instructions and a video for the wreath in the Video http://www.phpaide.com/?langue=fr&id=11 Library!

I have to confess, the Blossom Punch may have turned online casinos me into a punch addict!  I just couldn’t stop punching online slots those gorgeous flowers!!!!  So I looked around the craft room to see what else I could punch and a pile of kraft-colored tissue paper caught my eye.

At first I tried to punch through just one layer of tissue paper and that was a bit challenging.  But once I figured out that I would have much better success if I folded the tissue paper and punched through multiple layers, I was good to go!  Here is where all of the punched tissue paper flowers ended up…

For my final project I went back to the basics and decided to make a simple card.  Punches are a fun way to play around with paper piecing.  To create the flower on this card, I punched the flower from multiple styles of paper and then began to cut and glue the pieces together.  You can find a pdf with detailed directions in the Members Area of the Paper Crafter”s Library.

To see some of my other projects and free videos, just hop on over to my blog!  I am really enjoying sharing these projects with you and appreciate all of your comments!  It is wonderful being a part of such a supportive and creative community!  See you next month!!!!
