Winnie & Walter Designer – Vanessa Menhorn

Today we welcome Vanessa Menhorn. We are so excited to have her showcase her work today on Paper Crafter’s Library. You can see Vanessa’s fabulous project below, but first, here is a little more about her:

Hi everyone! My name is Vanessa Menhorn and I am living in Germany with my husband and our sweet little girl. Since I started stamping and card making in 2008, I haven’t been able to stay away from my supplies for very long. They just want me to create something pretty every day 🙂

I am working part time, but as soon as I get some time, you’ll find me sitting in the midst of my stamps and inks. I love trying new techniques creating mostly CAS cards.

I am happy to be here today and hope you’ll like the card I created with my beloved Winnie & Walter supplies!

Happy Everything

For this card, I combined various stamp sets and dies.

First, I die-cut the pierced rectangle from watercolor paper and stamped the balloons and strings. For more dimension, I die-cut another panel from fun foam and adhered it to the stamped piece, before adhering it to the cardbase. Then I used an ink blending tool to apply ink to another piece of watercolor paper, creating an ombre effect. I die-cut the “happy” from the inked piece and adhered it to the panel. Now I die-cut the notched strip from cardstock and stamped and heat-embossed the word “everything”. I trimmed the strip and adhered it to the card. Finally, I die-cut little stars from a blue inked piece of paper and adhered them.

Stamps: Winnie & Walter The Party, The Big, the Bold and You
Dies: Winnie & Walter Essentials: Katharine Cutaways, Big Bang Confetti Cutaways, In a Word: Happy Cutaway
Paper: Watercolor Paper, grey Cardstock
Ink: Versamark, grey ink (Tsukineko), green Pigment ink (Clearsnap), blue, turquoise ink (Mama Elephant), white Unicorn ink (Hero Arts)
Embossing Powder: Ranger Industries

We hope you have enjoyed today’s feature. We want to extend a sincere thank you to Vanessa Menhorn for her fabulous project and Winnie & Walter for sharing their company with us. Be sure to visit Winnie & Walter to see more of their products and their blog for some inspiration!

In order to enter the give-away to win the prize shown above, please leave us a comment in the comments section of this post. The winner will be announced next Wednesday.

Happy Crafting!

  34. Hi Vanessa, love this card. I’m just about to case it for a three year old’s birthday card! Just love the balloons overlapping and the funky foam is a great tip to give die cuts more dimension, I’ve always used several layers to do this and it’s really annoying to glue straight, now I have a new, faster way to achieve this look! Thank you for sharing your work.
