Club 52 – A *New* Online 52 Week Technique Club & A Give-Away

Do you love to learn new techniques which you can apply to your stamping, greeting cards, scrapbook pages, altered art or art journals?  Then this club might be just the thing for you!

Club 52 is a brand new technique club we recently launched here on Paper Crafter’s Library – which we are opening up as an online class for non-members.  The cost of the class is $60 CAN (about the same in US funds). Anyone from around the world can sign up.

This class is going to last for 52 weeks – and you are guaranteed to learn at least one new technique each week – so by the end of a one year period, you are guaranteed to learn at least 52 different techniques – many of which will be original techniques created by members of the Paper Crafter’s Library team! Also included in the price of this class is a number of bonus techniques.  You will have access to the classroom for 1 year and 3 months from the date that you join so that you have plenty of time to view all the videos and download the printed instructions.

Here’s how the club is going to work: we are going to explore 1 medium/product at a time – and teach you a number of different techniques using that medium/product. That way, you know that when you buy a particular product or medium you’ll have lots of different options for using it – so you know that you’ll really be getting your money’s worth out of that product.

In many cases the products/mediums used will not be brand-specific – in other words, as long as you have a similar product, even if it’s from a different manufacturer, you’ll be able to substitute it. So for example – for the first four weeks of the club we are going to be exploring techniques using dye-based inks.  ANY brand of dye-ink can be used – whether it’s Stampin’ Up! Classic ink, Adirondack Dye-Inks, Hero Arts shadow inks, Jenni Bowlin Dye inks, Tim Holtz Distress Inks etc.

Each technique (and any variations on that technique) will include a video tutorial. We will also provide you with some brief written instructions for that technique that you can print out.  We are demonstrating all of our techniques on tags that are about 3 1/8″ x 6 1/4″ – all the tags will be finished and decoraged.  The technique will be shown on one side of the tag and the printed instructions can be placed on the back of the tag. That way, as the club progresses, you will essentially be creating your own technique “booklet”.

If you are a paper crafting instructor or store owner you are welcome to use these techniques and our printed instructions in your own classes.

We’ve already posted the week 1 techniques, and Week 2’s will be posted on Friday, so as soon as you join, you can launch right in!  In fact, you can see a sneak peek below.

For Weeks 1 -4 we are going to be exploring background techniques with dye-based inks.  The Week 1 technique is one we came up with which we call the Swiped Background Technique – and we will be showing you three different variations – 1 color, 2 colors, and 3 colors.  So already, week 1 is going to give you three different techniques!

Sound fun?  You can sign up by clicking here.  Make sure that you select the online class option.  I should also mention that this online class, and all future online classes are free to Paper Crafter’s Library members as part of the benefits of their membership.

So, now for information about our give-away!  Leave us a comment in the comments section of this blog and tell us your favourite technique or one you’d like to learn and you’ll be entered to win a free registration for the Club 52 Online Class.  On Monday, Sept. 19th, we’ll be announcing 5 lucky winners!

  49. Where do you find time to do all this!!! I love your creativity! I do a weekly card/scrapbooking class for seniors and would like to learn techniques that are simple with easy to follow directions but that still have that wow! factor. They enjoy it so much and its good for them to get out, socialize and be creative.

  50. What a great thing to look forward to each week! My favourite technique is usually the one I’ve just discovered – until the next one comes along! I must say that I still love emboss resist techniques especially using different layers such as Joseph’s coat. Thank you for being so generous by giving 2 registrations for the club.

  51. I would love to get inspired to learn new techniques. I struggle knowing what to do with all of the items that I’ve purchased. I get shown once and then by the time I am ready to try it, I’ve forgotten how to do the technique. These classes would be awesome. I love the idea of not only learning the technique but actually following along with the video, seeing the end result and having the directions on the back. Great idea. I would be thrilled to win the 52 week online technique class.

  52. I would love to win this online technique class; I love learning new techniques and especially like to do embossing.

style and the twisted style. I also do alot of exploding boxes. These classes sound terrific. Take care.

  61. What a wonderful idea for the instruction booklet. That is my
main problem. Forgetting how to do the technique. I would love to win this.

  70. Wow! What a great opportunity.,,52 different techniques. I think this would really benefit me, as a demonstrator. Thanks for the opportunity to win. A technique I would like to learn is Joseph’s Coat. I’m sure yall will have some unique ones up your sleeves!!

  82. I would love to be entered in your new online training classes drawing. What a great idea! It’s perfect for me since I have had to quit going to SU monthly due to lack of time with 3 girls and it was to far from where I live. I would like to learn more techniques on using punches and perhaps watercolors…. Thanks for your innovative spirit. This is a great tool for so many. Wish you lots of luck with this launching.

  83. I love learning new techniques! Since many of my SU customers are “advanced” it’s sometimes hard for me to think of new techniques to introduce to them. This would really help me a lot!! I love techniques using chalks/pastels.

  84. One of my favorite techniques is using a stamp pad or ink roller to color the background when using an embossing folder. The raised area is the color of the card stock and the background is the color of the ink pad or ink that has been rolled on with a brayer. I already have so many crafting related tools and machines, etc. that I’d like to learn how to actually really use them instead of them collecting dust in my craft room.

  85. Wow, that sounds amazing! Who wouldn’t want to win such an awesome prize! I always love what you have come up with. As far as a favorite technique, I’d say right now I’m really liked the emboss resist tecnique. Thanks again for this opportunity!

  89. Hi there, I value all your project ideas, techniques, and sense of style. I have followed you guys right from the start, in fact, Andrea’s demonstration was what inspired me to get into crafting. I just started creating my own blog (not a lot of work shown yet as I feel a bit self conscious about it.) I do think your online course is just what I need to push myself forward. I would love to learn more about using wex, glue, distress resist, and other milti-media medium/ techniques. Last but not least, really love to be inspired by your design / style. Many thanks for what you have taught me already.

  90. I’m excited about this new class! I run a small business owned by my elderly parents and spend about 70 hours a week at work. To relax I have a stamp club that meets once a month. Because I have very little time for planning classes I love, love, love all you do to enable me to have an easier time planning my monthly class. Thanks for all you do! –

  98. Thank you for giving a person a chance to learn more without a cost. It’s not easy when the 2 breadwinners of the house have lost there jobs and we have to live off our teenage sons. So you guys are awesome. I also don’t understand the brayer technique. That is what I would love to learn or how to take a stamp set and look outside of the box and be able to use that set in different ways.
    Thanks again

  100. Sounds like a great time – and fun to learn something new, or just a different way of doing something you may have already tried. I always shy away from watercoloring, so I’d love to get some instruction on that. Thanks for the opportunity to win (otherwise, I’ll just have to sign up since it’s only $1.15/week! 52 weeks Techniques, sounds wonderful. I hope I can join all you wonderful talented crafters.

  102. I also love to learn new techniques. How to use my stamps in new ways would be good. Sometimes I get in a rut and only use them one way when there’s many more creative uses for them. I once saw someone stamp a stamp into ink and then comb it to make little lines on it. Works well with a big flat object like an apple. I love all paper ideas–like sanding white core paper, tearing, etc. There’s probably lots more ideas. . .Thanks.

  105. I would love this! As a new demonstrator, this would definitely be helpful! Thanks for the opportunity Andrea! I always love to get your emails and see what new things you’ve come up with.

  106. Exciting!! Thanks for the opportunity to win this class. I could love to lean more about using the brayer to create colorful backgrounds

  107. Wow! I would love to win, and have the opportunity to learn new techniques…and share them with others!

  108. Re-inkers have always been one of my favorite ways to do different techniques. It’s a product that can keep re-selling itself because of its’ many uses. So I would like to see a slew of re-inker techniques and thank for letting me know about this

  109. New ideas and techniques are always refreshing from the Andrea. Projects and demos by Andrea and Sophie are refreshing. Instructions for a project are precise, and clear but most of all, fun and enjoyable. I would love to have an opportunity to increase my creativity in all areas of paper crafts.

  114. Sounds like a fun way to learn new things. I would like to learn about making paper flowers, all kinds.

  115. To win a spot in this technique club would be awesome. It’s always a thrill to learn a new technique to help make my craft projects more special and unique. I’ve been crafting for many years and learning is such a wonderful way to help keep the “artistic” crafter alive and well within me!!!

  116. Hope I win…I would love to learn new techniques or practice so I get more use out of the products I have…Thanks

  117. I would love to learn the Soot Technique. It is such a cool look but I have not idea how it works!

  128. With a 2 year old and a 3 month old I haven’t had time to craft and I am going insane! Would love to win this and get back some much needed Mummy time 🙂

  129. I really enjoy your website and would love to win the membership to the “club” and learn new techniques. Stampin up has wonderful stamps, ink and paper. Thank you for this chance to win and learn all the techniques in “Club 52” abd maybe it will instill some creativity when I make cards!!! I really like to emboss and work with my brayer. Thank you!

  130. I love techniques and learning to use products in various ways. Cool backgrounds are always attention getters. Would sure love to win a free registration since money is a little too tight for me to join right now.
    Thanks for all you do.

  131. The technique club sounds terrific — I’d love to win and learn! One of my favourite techniques is sponging.
Thanks for all your great ideas — they are truly inspirational!!

  132. My experience seems so very limited after scanning thru the list of techniques you plan to teach. I wish you could arrange for fewer classes for novice crafters such as I. But, winning the whole program would be a wonderful way to just jump in…even if it’s over my head!

  133. This sounds like so much fun…I love using dies and embossing, but I know there is a world of techniques out there that I do not use. I would so love to be involved in your classes

  136. Maybe this will be my lucky time to enter. I have tried to get techniques put together but it sure is a challenge to keep everything uniform, written up and sampled. Some guidance like yours I bet would make it that much better as I could organize everything and set some goals. You do some very neat water painting projects and video would be the best as I really work better from a visual for understanding.
I have not been in touch lately with getting all of the kids organized for school so now I am hoping to get back to some fun for me!!
    Thanks

  202. This sounds amazing! I started out scrapbooking but now I like to focus on creating something new everytime whether is cards, boxes, 3-D or favors. Something im yet to try is water crayons, I would love to see a tutorial on how to use them! Thanks~

  203. This is a fabulous opportunity! While not being new to card making and scrapbooking, I am new to learning techniques and love any chance to learn. I don’t really know any techniques to say what my favorite is, but I’d like to find out what the wax paper resist and emboss resist are. Good luck to all!!

  204. This sounds like a fantastic class, I since I am new to stamping I need to learn the foundation first, then to go farther with other techniques. I have been seeing a lot of videos abut distress inks this looks interesting

  205. I love learning any new technique. I like to take card classes about one a month to learn a new techique but with working later shifts, it gets a litle hard to get out to them . So I would love to win a 52 week class., and do it in my own home…Thanks

  216. Andrea,
What a great idea! I love to learn new techniques! My favorite one is the one where you use the used dryer sheet.I would love to join the technique club. I have a missionary that just left a few weeks ago on a mission for the LDS church. He’s going to Houston, TX. I’m so glad that he’s willing to go and serve the people in Texas. Since we pay for hiis needs while he’s there we have to watch our budget more carefully. Maybe I’ll get lucky and win a free registration. 🙂

  217. What a great idea! Techniques are so fun..these tags look awesome! A fav technique…to choose just one, hmmm…emboss resist has so many possiblilites…maybe that one! 220. wow !!! would love to be able to do several different things with just one product, it sounds like an exccelent class. would love to win this.

One of the things i would like to learn would be more resist techniques or how to use my inks in different ways.

thank you for the opportunity to win!!

  221. This class sounds wonderful! I would like to have/make my own catalog of techniques. I have never used chalk or water color crayons/pastels. I would love to learn how to use these. thanks for the chance!

  222. I can benefit from learning just about any technique as I’m very new to cardmaking. I love shading through coloring, blending… but am intrigued by masking and layering techniques but haven’t tried them. You know the ones with the gorgeous suns with sillouettes in the foreground. This would be a terrific lift to my cardmaking skills.

  223. Right now my favorite technique is emboss resist. I’d love to learn some new techniques that also use heat embossing and some to make cool backgrounds. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win!

  224. I would love to be one of the lucky five. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us. I’m interested in learning about mixed media collages.

  225. Gosh Andrea, I love to try everything at least once so it would be hard for me to say just one technique. There is one medium that rarely ever see any technique tutorials on, that is Acrylic Gesso. I bought it over a year ago to use on some project, never did and now I don’t know what to use it for. But if you remember, I love using different mediums so I would love to win a registration for your technique club. How awesome that would be.

  226. I’d love to try or be forced to try new techniques and this just might get me doing them. Andrea – your ideas are so well explained, I’m sure any instuctions you give would help us all to perform these new techniques! Nancy L. Berg

  230. I think have a technique class is awesome. There are so many new techniques coming out all of the time and it would be great to learn some new ones in the comfort of your own home. A lot of people just don’t have time to take classes all over the place. Great Idea! I have gotten on the copic bandwagon and would love to learn some more detailed techniques using these markers.

  231. I think I am a technique junkie. I love to try everything. Have a hard time keeping track of them all so this is a great idea. I have always been a follower of your wonderful newsletter. You have the true heart of a crafter – you love what you do and share what you love. Thanks from all of us. But especially me. Kathy Jo Moore

  232. I love this idea. I would love to win registration to your club, its great. I like that you will look at one medium each week, can’t wait. Hope I win……

  234. I would love to expand my library of techniques. It sounds like a great class. I love the look that marbled stone gives to projects.

  235. I love just about all techniques. One thing I do like in a new technique is when you use something you already have around the house. I remember when I first starting stamping, using plastic wrap and your ink pads to make backgrounds was a very popular technique. One product that I’m interested in learning new techniques with is glitter. I bought a TON of glitter at one of those scrapbook expos and now I’m kind of at a loss as what to do with it. Any ideas?

Thanks for the chance to win a subscription to your new class.
    Kim

  236. I hope I get a freebie here! I love your swiped technique. It looks better than the similar Backgrounds I have attempted. I like to emboss with glitter for Christmas cards. I hope to win so I can learn faux surface techniques, such as sand, moss and marble. I am open to any of the techniques, since I am a newbie. My sister is teaching me a lot, but I like to turn the tables on her (in a positive way) sometimes!!!

  237. Whoops I too forgot to mention my favorite technique because I love them all. If I had to choose one it would be embossing – All kinds!!!! I would sure love to be apart of this club. Thanks for the opportunity. 🙂 Kathy Jo Moore

  238. I love the soot technique. However no matter how many times I try it it doesn’t turn
Out like so many samples I have seen.
I would love to take part in the 52 weeks. What a great way to learn some thing new every week!

  239. Wow I didn’t even know there were 52 techniques. Right now I like sanding my images after I put them through my Big Shot. I love learning new techniques. I think this is the class for me to expand my knowledge base. Oh I’ve also been experimenting with different folds to make fun cards. My next technique I want to try is to make a waterfall card. Su

  243. Wow Andrea, how do I choose just one technique I spent my time trying to choose one all the time, but I can’t pick one, I love to cruise the web for great ideas and a technique club would save me the time of choosing what to do and I thenwould have more time crafting, now that would be awesome.

  244. I love cardmaking and scrapbooking and I enjoy learning new techniques and would love to win a registration for your new technique club. My current favourite techniques are dry and wet embossing.

  245. Love the idea of any technique. This makes a card more personal and more fun to make. Great idea and greta job everyone who was involved. Thanks so much for an opportunity to reap benefits and fun from this.

  246. Thanks for the chance to learn a new technique for free!!! I would like to see more ideas for using mixed media on cards or canvas.

  247. Wow Andrea – you are so generous! Thank you for offering this to 5 lucky winners – would love to be one of them! I’m always amazed at the beautiful things you share with us – you never cease to amaze me. I would love to see more embossing techniques – both dry and heated. I’ve been stamping for 15 years and just when I think I’ve seen it all something else blows my mind. I’ve been hooked on embossing lately – but am in a rut. I know I can depend on you to take me to the next level. You are such a blessing!

  248. Anything with embossing is probably my favorite technique because of how beautiful they turn out. I’m game to try anything once though. Thanks for this opportunity to win a registration to your new club. Sounds like a winning idea!

  253. Andrea! You have truly outdone yourself again! I am simply amazed at how creative and organized you are to have all these great ideas AND sharing them with us! Thank you for all you’ve shared and taught. One of my favorite techniques for making backgrounds is to use glossy paper, swirl on different colors of craft ink, and maybe add some glitter or gold leafing pen to create a great marbled look. Then I stamp on top after it is dried.

  254. WOW!! What a great idea 52 weeks…
You gals are amazing. I am sure you are going to get lots of interest in this Technique Club.

Being a stay at home mom to a child with Down syndrome makes it easier for me to focus on a little time with card making. Thomas is so easy going, he tries to help me by playing with some of my papers. He is 16 months..his big brother, Kaj, has just started grade primary a week ago so now Thomas and I are alone at home to “focus” on card making..hope this is successful for you!
    Gwen

  391. These 52 weeks of learning will be amazing if Paper Crafters Library is anything to go on!!
One of my favourite techniques is polished stone, but I am far from polished at it yet !!!!
Really enjoy your work and look forward to this new offer. Thanks for the chance to win.

  392. I love to learn new techniques using creative mediums, like gesso, canvas etc. This sounds like it is going to be a great class. Good luck

  393. Wow, this is a fantastic prize and we all know that you and Sophia have mad talent so we are sure to be WOW’ed by all the techniques. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win a free membership. I would be ecstatic if I won. Thanks again. 🙂

  394. Wow! I really like to win. I dont have a favorite because I m newbie with techniques. What a great prize.

  395. I would love the opportunity to learn any and all new techniques. I feel like it’s been ages since I have tried something new. Thanks!

  396. This is something I’d love to win! I don’t know how many techniques i can name, but it’s far short of 52!! Way to go!

  397. I used to teach techniques but have forgotten so many of them. Now with my granddaughters getting into cardmaking and scrapbooking, this would be a great class to win. I could refresh my memory, learn new techniques and pass them on to a new generation of crafters.

  398. 52 weeks of your ideas and techniques? Wow… I better pull out some of my lesser used/unused supplies – like my vellum paper- and get ready to see if I am one lucky winner. Thanks so much!

  399. I am just getting back into papercrafts after a 5 year break starting a family. Now that there is a small window of me time I would love the opportunity to catch up on techniques through Club-52. I am especially interested in the Big Shot techniques. Thank you for making Club 52 available

  400. You are fantastic!
Thanks so Much, this is a great idea!
I’d love to win the opportunity to make these classes, although I´m from a different country!
    Thanks!

  401. Different techniques are what make our cards and crafts special and unique, and above the “store-bought” cards! Everything looks so difficult to do … until you know how! I want to know how!!!

  402. How wonderful of you to give away this whole year of techniques! What a fantastic prize. I love double embossing but have lots of problems with it! Perhaps there is some trick I don’t know. I’d love to learn more. It is the new that keeps paper crafting fun!

  403. Fabulous class – How FUN. Love the name of your classes – please count me IN. The technique I would like to learn more about is ANYTHING resist. Isn’t that hard of a technique – but just need some help in fine tuning the process. Thanks for this opporuntity – You ROCK!

  404. Wow! 52 weeks of techniques, I can hardly wait! I really love the faux porcelain technique but I always love learning new techniques from your site. Thanks for always sharing.

  405. Personally, I don’t have a favourite technique … I enjoy creating with anything that is different from what I would normally call my old “standby’s”. Having the techniques in both video and written is a huge bonus, especially for ‘visual learners’ like me.

  406. Dear All,
It will be great to win the 52-weeks free online technique class. I love to learn new techniques, I,m interested in all sorts, but maybe you can show what to do with “vellum”. And to learn all about the very different kinds of ink. It will be so nice to show in Holland-Europe what you teach me!!
    Kind regards,
    doud
    holland

  407. I would love to learn how to brayer. I love the idea of being able to keep all the ideas you are showing on a book mark. Makes it very easy to flip through. Great idea as it is small and easy. Thanks for sharing.
