530VirginiaLubioHello, I am Virginia Lu living in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. I am an avid stamper, cardmaker/scrapbooker. I’m blessed with two wonderful children and a loving and supportive husband. In my blog (Yes, Virginia...) I share my love of card creations, scrapbooking, food and traveling.

I have been active in on line stamping community since 2008 and I love every minute of it.  I have been fortunate to have a few cards published by Paper Crafts, Cards, Papercraft Inspirations(UK) in the last two years.
I am currently on three design teams: The CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, Runway Inspired Challenge and SRM Sticker.

Card Projects

Today I am going to share three cards with chalkboard  effect. It is trendy and fun. They are really easy to create.

Card #1—Hooray

Paper: Neenah (white), Bazzill Basics  (black)
Stamps: Howl Are you, Wood  Background, It’s All Good by Hero Arts
Inks: Raspberry Jam Mid Tone Shadow  Ink by Hero Arts, Color Box Pigment Ink (white), Versamark (Tsukineko)
Embossing Powder:  Stampendous Embossing Powder (white,  detailed), Green embossing Powder (Zing)
Accessories: 3 D Pop Dots by EK  Success, gems by Hero Arts

 

Card  #2—Everything will be OK

Paper: white, Kraft (Recollections),  Green (Bazzill Basics)
Stamps: Sundrifter- Frames and  Feathers by Hero Arts
Inks: Versamark (Tsukineko), Color  Box Pigment Ink (white)
Embossing Powder: Stampendous  Embossing Powder (white, detailed), (pink and blue) Embossing Powder (Zing) by American Crafts
Accessories: 3 D Pop Dots by EK  Success, gems by Hero Arts

 

Card #3—A Sweet  Note

Pattern paper: Lucille by Basic Grey
Stamps: Stirring in Lots of Love by  Lil Inkers Designs
Inks: Versamark (Tsukineko), Color  Box Pigment Ink (white), Punch Mid Tone Shadow Ink by Hero Arts
Embossing Powder: Stampendous  Embossing Powder (white, detailed)
Accessories:  Jute from American Crafts, heart pearl  (Hero Arts)
Tool: small hole punch  (Staples)

  5. Virginia is such a FUN and awesome designer! Love her chalkboard cards here, especially the owl. So smart to have him in the tree with the chalkboard night sky in the middle, the three gem stars, and the chalk (which makes for the perfect clouds)!

  6. I can almost smell the chalk from here! 😉 What memories this chalkboard technique elicits. Thanks for featuring another great paper artist. I visited Virginia’s blog but, for some unknown reason with SOME Blogger blogs I get an error code and am unable to comment. I hope Virginia will be checking back over here and see that I enjoyed her work and blog a whole lot, even though I couldn’t comment there.

  8. I am always inspired by Virginia’s work and have been for a long time. I have not yet tried the chalkboard technique, but I will now! I LOVE chalkboards and even have a Pinterest board just for them! LOVING the green card with the sweet baking girl!!
