Maybe I watch too many movies but in all of the wedding movies there comes a time when the guests clink on their glasses with spoons and shout, “speech, speech, speech.” I just thought it was a funny reference to the ever so cool trend of speech bubbles in paper crafting. They have shown up as stamps, die cuts, stickers and dies and I think they are so cool. You can be the judge. I have several projects I’d like to share with you.
Laurie used the bubbles to communicate without using any words at all but it is so clear that she is sending love. Look how neat the peek a boo paper shows through the back of the hearts in the bubble.

Of course, you can use words in your bubbles too and I just couldn’t resist this awesome shaker card with the die cut speech bubbles.

This next card uses the Lawn Fawn die that you can use to take the bubble completely across your card. And the pun is just perfect, by the way.

Kimberly used the same idea but the background paper says the message for her. How pretty, and I love her shadow stars she uses to accent the bubble.

This next card was created with two of the same die and I just love the way they set each other off. It is a clever way to display the sentiment of your card.

They still look good the traditional way by having them point to a character in your card to deliver the message. I just love the color and cheeriness of this card.

Speech bubbles are also awesome for that funny, silly or sarcastic expression. This is one is awesome.

But you don’t have to be limited to the space inside. This polka dot wonder has the message outside and inside of the bubble and the effect is lovely.

Marion stamped the speech bubble all over her card to create this very calming background paper for her project.

The inlaid look is so clean and classy and it just rocks with the speech bubbles cradling the Happy Birthday sentiment.

This shaped smart phone is the perfect vehicle for several messages in the bubbles. I have to get this die set. So fun for teen cards.

You can also make your own speech bubble with punches or by using a cloud punch or sketch you already have. This sewn beauty is so cute.

There are so many options between stamps, dies, stencils, stickers and DIYs. I hope you find something new and fun for inspiration.
So go ahead, … make something pretty.

While I probably won’t purchase any speech bubbles, I did find this entry to be quite interesting.
