About May Arts Ribbon

May Arts Ribbon was founded in the early 1980’s in Riverside, Connecticut. The original products were high-end silk flowers imported from Taiwan, which were decorated using quality ribbons. The decorative ribbons proved so popular among customers that the business gradually evolved into a dedicated ribbon wholesaler.

As a family-owned and operated business, May Arts Ribbon began a long-standing tradition of quality, affordability and exceptional customer service. They are dedicated to carrying on this same tradition by offering high quality products at competitive prices. Their friendly, knowledgeable staff is always happy to answer your questions or to assist you in placing your order.

May Arts Ribbon carries a wide selection of quality ribbons to choose from; such as grosgrain, silk, satin, burlap and a variety of prints and patterns. All inventory is held in stock, so they can ship orders out right away—typically the same day.

Where to Buy May Arts Ribbons

The May Arts Ribbon website is their wholesale site for online and brick and mortar retailers. We’ve linked to it so that you can easily view their entire product line in one place. There are numerous places where you can purchase May Arts Ribbon ribbons including many local scrapbook stores as well as online stores. Two of the online stores that carry the biggest selections that we are aware of include Amazon and Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  Amazon carries the complete May Arts Ribbon line (plus you can qualify for free shipping). Click on the link we provided and it will take you to our May Arts Ribbon search results. To find a particular ribbon, go to the May Arts Ribbon website, find the name of the ribbon and color and then enter that into your Amazon search results. Please note that through Amazon you’re buying by the roll. Most other online and local scrapbook stores sell May Arts Ribbon ribbons by the yard.

May Arts Ribbon Designer – Jenifer Cowles

Today we welcome Jenifer Cowles. We are so excited to have her showcase her work today on Paper Crafter’s Library. You can see Jenifer’s fabulous project below, but first, here is a little more about her:

JeniferCowlesProfilePic-09102014-250WMy name is Jenifer Cowles and I live in a small town in Idaho.  I work on computers by day and scrap and sew after the kiddos go to sleep by night.  I have 3 cutie pies who give me tons to scrap about ages 14-8.  I have been doing some sort of crafting my entire life and my day just doesn’t feel complete without making something.  I love a challenge and can make just about anything.

Designer Project

I absolutely love the new adhesive scallop ribbon from May Arts Ribbon and I couldn’t wait to use it in my project.  I thought it would be fun to use the scallops like ruffles in a fun skirt.

JeniferCowles1-09102014-550W

I started with a tag and using a little paint, mist and embossing powder I created this lovely background.  I used the scallop ribbon for the underskirt on my dress form and as well as a few rows on the floor and as a border around the edge of the tag.  With the adhesive already on the scallop ribbon it makes it very easy to use and I had no problems at all getting this ribbon to stick on the embossing powder and the paint.

This is a great project to use some of the smaller scraps of ribbon you just can’t throw away.  Imagine all of the different possibilities with the wonderful variety of ribbon that May Arts Ribbon has to offer.  I hope I have inspired you to try some of the new adhesive ribbon on your next project.
