About May Arts

May Arts Ribbon was founded in the early 1980’s in Riverside, Connecticut. The original products were high-end silk flowers imported from Taiwan, which were decorated using quality ribbons. The decorative ribbons proved so popular among customers that the business gradually evolved into a dedicated ribbon wholesaler.

As a family-owned and operated business, May Arts began a long-standing tradition of quality, affordability and exceptional customer service. We are dedicated to carrying on this same tradition by offering high quality products at competitive prices. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is always happy to answer your questions or to assist you in placing your order.

May Arts carries a wide selection of quality ribbons to choose from; such as grosgrain, silk, satin, burlap and a variety of prints and patterns. All inventory is held in stock, so we can ship orders out right away—typically the same day.

Where to Buy May Arts Ribbons

The May Arts website is their wholesale site for online and brink and mortar retailers. We’ve linked to it so that you can easily view their entire product line in one place. There are numerous places where you can purchase May Arts Ribbons including many local scrapbook stores as well as online stores. Two of the online stores that carry the biggest selections that we are aware of include Amazon, who carry the complete May Arts Ribbon Line (plus you can qualify for free shipping). Click on the link we provided and it will take you to our May Arts Ribbon Search Results. To find a particular ribbon, go to the May Arts website, find the name of the ribbon and color and then enter that into your Amazon search results. Please note that through Amazon you’re buying by the roll. Most other online and local scrapbook stores sell May Arts Ribbon by the yard. One of the online stores that carries a great selection is Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Special May Arts Guest Designer

508LaloheadshotToday we a special project for you created by May Arts Guest Designer Lalo. You can see Lalo’s fabulous project below, but first, here is a little more about Lalo:

Hi everyone, my name is too long for most so I just go by Lalo.  I live in Hawaii where I have the BEST job of raising three awesome boys and one pretty princess.  When I’m not at the beach or running my kiddos around, you can find me paper crafting up a storm.
I like making everything from cards and scrapbook pages to altered arts and gifts.  I’m also big on tutorials because I love to share.

May Arts Featured Project:
“Turn your scraps into a mini album”
508Lalo_PL_1
I have scrap pattern paper in all sizes and being the hoarder that I am, can’t throw it away.  So I’ve come up with a super cool way to use up your leftover papers and embellishments.  Make a scrap mini-album.  Just gather your pattern paper and score down the middle of each one.  Then start randomly stacking them onto each other lining up the score lines.  Stitch down the middle and that is basically it.  Just use up your leftover embellishments and some paper punches and you have a super cool mini-album.  From the paper to the fibers, this mini-album was made entirely from scraps.

Products used:
Pattern paper and stickers: Echo Park Paper “For The Record 2” collection
Fibers: 4 inch burlap (398-4-02), Houndstooth (435-15-10), Woven Chevron (443-58-01), Burlap String (sm10), Black Baker’s Twine (412-10)

We hope you have enjoyed today’s feature. We want to extend a sincere thank you to Lalo for her fabulous projects and May Arts for sharing their company with us. Be sure to visit May Arts to see more of their great products and to enter the fabulous give-away.

In order to enter the give-away to win the ribbon rolls, please leave us a comment in the comments section of this post and visit May Arts to leave a comment on their blog as well. Winners will be announced next week on the Paper Crafter’s Library blog!

  1. May Arts has such great ribbons and fibers. That they come from a family-owned business is an added plus. I’m always looking for ways to use up scraps or papers that don’t quite “make the grade” for cards. Who can’t use little mini albums for all sorts of things? They’re much more fun than bits of scrap paper to write notes on.

  2. I always have lots of scraps around. thanks for the idea of using them in something useful and beautiful.

  3. I love your mini album! I’m also crazy about the idea of making mini albums out of scraps. What an awesome way to add beauty to every day!

  4. Lovely mni album from the left over scraps! Awesome idea and design, Lalo!

  5. Wow…Love your album. I am almost finished with embellishing my first journal. I love the burlap and the bow too! I may investigate the burlap. Great idea for using scraps. Thanks for the opportunity and for sharing.

  6. I LOVE May Arts Ribbon! I would love to be able to have every color, every pattern, every type of their ribbon. Their ribbon makes my cards special. I’m always proud to give a card made with May Arts ribbon to a friend or loved one.

Lalo, I really like your card.

  7. I have a good sized drawer right next to my work table and every scrap that is at least a 1″ square or a long strip goes in there. Pieces get grabbed out of there all the time! Lalo’s idea would be a great way to use some of the larger bits. Thanks, Lalo and May Arts!
