Lawn Fawn’s Designer

Today we welcome Nancy Krueger. We are so excited to have her showcase her work today on Paper Crafter’s Library. You can see Nancy’s fabulous project below, but first, here is a little more about her:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHi my name is Nancy and I’m a happy wife, mom of 2 married sons and a grammy living in sunny Southern California. My hubby of 36 years and I have filled our empty nest with a silly golden retriever and an adorable Chihuahua. I enjoy the beach, cool breezes and sunrises!

I’ve been an avid crafter since I was a child but when I bought my first rubber stamp and ink 30 years ago I was hooked on stamping and paper-crafting! My talented mom is my crafting inspiration. She once painted pretty flowers on my sneakers to hide the worn spots!

I am blessed to work with the wonderful folks at Lawn Fawn. Mike and Kelly are like family and they have assembled a wonderful crew of “Fawnies”. I share my cards and paper-crafting projects along with the occasional story about my family at my blog Happy Heart Studio: http://happyheart-nancyljk.blogspot.com/

You Got Hitched Card

My son and his new bride were married in Las Vegas and are having a local reception for family and friends. I wanted to make a card that told a story and also was lots of fun. I will tuck a gift card inside. Lawn Fawn’s Happy Trails and Love You S’more were my inspiration!

Card Front

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I printed out a stock photo of the Las Vegas sign on photo paper, trimmed it to size and matted it with black card stock.  I stamped, die-cut and colored (using Copic markers) the car and trailer images from Happy Trails. The custom sentiment was stamped using Smitty’s ABCs and Riley’s ABCs. The larger banner is from Bannerific and the smaller banner is in the Home Sweet Home set. The banners and images are popped up on foam adhesive.

Middle Panel

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I cut 2 pieces of white card stock to size and free hand cut the hill shape from one. I blended various Distress inks to create a twilight sky on the full panel and the ground on the hill shaped panel, then adhered them with tape runner. The images from Happy Trails and Love You S’more were stamped, die-cut and colored with Copics then arranged on the card with tape runner and some foam adhesive on one tree and the marshmallows.

Inside Panel

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I used Penelope’s Blossoms to stamp a flower arrangement using dye inks. I was inspired by Lynnette’s pretty card set.  The congrats speech bubble was clear embossed to give it a fun glossy look. To do this I first inked the image with Versamark ink, then I inked it with a dye ink and stamped. The Versamark ink allows the stamped image to stay sticky long enough for the clear embossing powder to stick to it.

I assembled the completed panels on a 12″ x 5 1/2″ card base that was scored at 4″ and 8″. I trimmed 1/16″ from the center panel so that the card front would close easily over the top.

Supplies:

Love You S’more stamp set and coordinating dies
Happy Trails stamp set and coordinating dies
Bannerific stamp set and coordinating dies
Home Sweet Home stamp set and coordinating dies
Smitty’s ABCs stamp set
Riley’s ABCs stamp set
Penelope’s Blossoms stamp set
