About Fancy Pants Designs
Fancy Pants Designs was founded almost 10 years ago by Jared and Jodi Sanford. With Jodi’s love of scrapbooking and the support of many creative people, Fancy Pants Designs quickly grew into a must-have product line in the paper crafting industry and continues to produce fabulous designs and unique embellishments today. Jared directs the day to day business and warehouse management of the office, while Jodi directs all art and product development and marketing. She also teaches her love of scrapbooking and crafting to many dedicated scrapbookers and is honored to have been given this opportunity. They know that their business is a success because of devoted fans who use their products and hope to continue developing even more products that meet the needs of all crafters!
Fancy Pants Designer
Today we welcome Jodi Sanford, the owner. We are so excited to have her showcase her work today on Paper Crafter’s Library. You can see Jodi’s fabulous project below, but first, here is a little more about her:
Jodi Sanford is the founder and owner of Fancy Pants Designs, Inc. She is a wife to a wonderful husband and the mother of four busy kids and considers being a Mom the greatest job she has—with designing and teaching being a close second!
Jodi has enjoyed stationary, stickers and crafting since she was very young, and began to focus more specifically on her scrapbooking and paper crafting hobby over 20 years ago. She is regularly published in national magazines and online, has developed magazine articles and concepts and taught classes worldwide!
Along with her husband, Jared, she started Fancy Pants Designs, in 2004, as a way to offer new and innovative products to this creative market and their company has been blessed with wonderful fans ever since!
Jodi enjoys spending time with her family hanging out in the backyard, watching her kids play sports, running, and hitting a movie now and then—not to mention traveling and teaching her love of scrapbooking throughout the world!
Marli Girl Layout
This layout was created using Fancy Pants Designs new As You Wish collection. I really wanted to show off the sparkly personality that my cute daughter, Marli, has so this line was the perfect fit. Not only is it filled with color and happiness, the touches of gold really made it shine like her! I really wanted to show off the colors of the line by using that fabulous ‘quilted’ paper as the background, but didn’t want it to compete too much with the big color pops around my photo.
The vellum made a perfect look that softened the page, yet made those colors and gold pieces really stand out around the photo! Plus, I was able to cut through the vellum, using my Silhouette, {awesome} for my title and add gold foil stars under the vellum {and on top}! By stitching the vellum down (and hiding adhesive under the photo and embellishments) I created a little pocket of confetti right on the page! With the different embellishments on the page, there is a perfect mix of color and texture…just the look I was hoping for! And guess what? It was actually a really quick layout by using pre-designed, pre-cut pieces! The hardest part was making sure my ‘confetti’ wasn’t falling out of my title! {I did add some adhesive to a few of the stars to keep them in place around the opening–the rest are floating around for a fun flair!}
I used our new Library Cards to add my journaling, along with a mini bag and small tag to accent the photo and add some date details! There are lots of interactive pieces on the page, yet it doesn’t appear to be too busy.

I love how the vellum and gold pieces were used!
I always look forward to the company and artist feature posts. There is always something new and interesting to see. Love the paper designs and colors, the fun stickers, the library pockets and more. Jodi got a new fan by using vellum (a personal favorite), the stitching, and not leaving the buttons naked (hate to see that). It’s the attention to detail that makes me want to support companies and artists. Thanks for the nice introduction to Jodi and Fancy Pants.
