Today on the Paper Crafter’s Library blog, we’re continuing our weekly featured artist spotlight whereby each week we spotlight a different artist/designer in the paper crafting & mixed media world and introduce you to their fabulous work. Today we’re thrilled to welcome Andrea Hayes.

Before we show you Andrea’s project, let’s get to know her a little bit more…

AndreaHayesProfilePic-06052014-250WHi, my name is Andrea Hayes.  Firstly I’m a wife and mum and feel blessed with the four men in my life!  I craft, I work, I design, and most of it happens in my very small office.  I live in Victoria, a beautiful state of Australia and have been crafting in one form or another all my life.  My love of paper and stamps lead me to AnnaBelle Stamps, my very own online store.  I play and share on my blog Stamping Moments, as well as my YouTube channel AnnaBelle Stamps.

I was so very excited to be asked to share with you this week here!  I chose to use one of our cuties ‘Lil Monster’ and my first favourite coluring medium Inktense Pencils (love, love, love them) as well as my second favourite, Copics.”

Happy Birthday Card

My first card uses Inktense pencils which have a beautiful vibrancy!  I’ve coloured the image directly with the pencil then added water with a fine brush to blend and shade.  The background uses two shades of pencil lightly layed down and then blended.  With these pencils you can go back and add colour once the first layer has dried as they are permanent when dry.

Stitched Happy Birthday Card

My second card uses the lightest shades of Copics for the body of our Lil Monster and the balloon in bright oranges so that it pops of the card!  I’ve stamped and coloured a second balloon, and added some stitching to add a little dimension.

  1. I’ve been seeing lots of cute monsters lately, but this one beats ’em all. I literally chuckled out loud when I scrolled down the page and saw him for the first time. Thanks for introducing us to another great company and artist. I’m heading over to Andrea’s blog now to check out her other projects.

  2. Love that little monster, Andrea! I once took a very long 6 hour cruise to cross Lake Michigan with my three kids. I owned a T-shirt printing company at the time and made the kids t’s that read: Little Monsters need love, too! I remember the graphics looking very much like your little monster =]
