WOW! Design Team Project
Our next WOW! Designer with her lovely scrapbook layout project is Jennifer Roach. You can see the fabulous project below but in the meantime, here is a little bit about Jennifer:
Hi my name is Jennifer and I live in Ontario Canada with my husband and two and a half year old daughter. I’m a scientist by day and a crafter by night. I started out my paper crafting journey in the early 2000s and I love to scrapbook and make cards.
What I love the most about doing design work is the chance to try new techniques and new ways to use products. I currently design for WOW! Embossing Powders and two stamp companies. I hope you’ll enjoy the embossing techniques I have to share with you today.
Scrapbook Embossing Layout
Hello! Today I’m going to show you how to add some WOW! Embossing Powders to your scrapbooking pages. It’s quick and easy to add embossing powder to regular scrapbooking embellishments and it gives your pages gorgeous shine, glimmer and texture.
Supplies: WOW! Embossing Powders: Suzy West Candy Counter Collection – “Whirly Pop” (SW-WK00), Neutral Ultra Shimmer (SW-WS02) Papers: Fancy Pants Designs (Wishful Thinking Collection), Recollections (green polkadot) Ink: Tim Holtz Distress embossing ink (Ranger Industries) Accessories: Rectangular paper doily (party supply store), Heidi Swapp Chipboard Letters, Prima burlap flowers, Prima pearls, “Blossom” baker’s twine from The Twinery, manila mailing tags, Kaisercraft mini letter stickers.
Directions:
On the layout I’m showing you today I added some WOW! Neutral Shimmer powder to the burlap flowers and chipboard letters and I also created a custom coloured doily mat for my photo by covering a regular paper doily (from the party supply store) with some WOW! Suzy West Candy Counter Collection Whirly Pop pink embossing powder.
To add glitter to the flowers and chipboard letters I simply inked them up (just the edges for the flowers) with Ranger Distress Embossing ink, sprinked on the embossing powder and heat with a heat gun.
For my background doily photo mat, I applied the embossing ink all around the outside of the doily, sprinkled on the powder, shook off the excess and then heat embossed. I did two layers on the doily to get an even coat.
So why not give change up your embellishments by adding some WOW! embossing powder?
Close up 1: Shows the embossed doily
Close up 2: Shows the glitter I added to the edges of the burlap flowers.

Paper Crafter’s Library Designer Projects
We have three video tutorials in all for you today. In the first two videos I’m going to show you a couple of different techniques for heat embossing on fabrics. In the first video I’m going to show you how easy it is to easily double, triple or even more your selections of ribbon with some patterned stamps and Wow!’s opaque bright white embossing powder. In the picture below you can see two patterned ribbons I created – one with polka dots and one with stripes. The picture of the card shows you what these ribbons look like incorporated into a project.
You can view a video on how I created the patterned ribbon below.
The second example of stamping on fabric we have for you today is this Decorated Baby Onesie. I bought a plain striped onesie from the dollar store for $2, and customized it with a star. I used my Crafter’s Workshop Basic Star template and Wow!’s Puff Embossing Powder. I have to tell you that stuff is amazing – you’ll see exactly how awesome it is in the video. It expands to three times the height of all the other embossing powders and has a cool texture. It’s also machine washable, and won’t crack.
You can view a video on how I decorated this baby onesie below.
The final video tutorial we have for you today is this baby card. Tracy uses embossing in several ways – she stamps and embosses for the greeting and label, she shows you how easy it is to emboss just the edges of your paper creating beautiful contrast and definition against the card stock below, and then finally – the punched border you see below? When the card is closed you see glitter shining through – Tracy uses Wow!’s Embossing Glitter to create a gorgeous glittered strip on the inside of the card.
You can view a video on how Tracy created this Baby card below.
Part 1
Part 2
Our last two projects are Paper Crafter’s Library member exclusives. In the first project Tracy shows you how you can add embossing glitter to an outline greeting, and how to step up die cut images with a little embossing.
This second card is the one I showed above with the swatches of homemade patterned ribbons.
The video tutorials and handouts for both projects are available to our Paper Crafter’s Library members.
So there you have it! Day 2 of our celebration of Wow! Embossing Powders I hope you have enjoyed all the projects that our design team and the Wow! design team have created for you.
