Adding unexpected color, like blue or pink, to more traditional Halloween images is a great way to avoid repeating anything you may have done last year. Ann Greenspan”s pink Halloween card is super cute and is sure to surprise your friends and family.

Combine any of your favorite colors, or whatever card stock scraps you have on hand, with traditional Halloween black. Instantly you”ll lighten up the mood of your card, even if there”s a creepy, crawly spider on it!

Ever feel like a color “scares” you to use it? I have felt that way, and Debra Currier did a great job pointing out that Halloween is a great time to use a color that may otherwise seem scary to use. Her use of the under-appreciated, yellow toned Summer Starfruit cardstock from Stampin” Up! is truly inspiring.

Pastel colors are not just for Easter any more! Softer pastel colors, as featured in these next cards, also make very pretty Halloween cards.

Brightly colored washi tape can also help dress up a Halloween project adding some non-traditional color. The unexpected blue tape on the card below coordinates well with the other polka dot strips and looks so fresh and trendy.

Traditional black and orange is still fun to use for the holiday, of course. Add in bright green and purple and you still have a cheerful, traditional Halloween card. Choose multi color patterns and embellishments or keep it clean and simple and you”ll have a terrific project finished in no time.

Inspired to create something new? May you at least feel liberated from the use of only orange and black colors on your crafts this year. Enjoy a bright and happy Halloween!
Such fun cards. I don’t usually send but one Halloween card, but these may have inspired me to make more. I like the unexpected non-traditional colors.
Just loving these colors! Wonderful inspiration!
This Trendy Tuesday Article is so spooky and bootiful! Yeah for the use of bright colors. Nice to see that I am Trendy for a change. We are in full out Creepy Mode here. We send out cards, make treat tags and wraps, and use tons of Halloween Paper and Ribbon. Hold on to your Pumpkins because I am known to use them by the Bushel! It is so nice to see all the Neighbors one last time before we hibernate for the winter here in New England.
I’m really loving these colors for the cards and layouts. They certainly add a fresh perspective. What fun!
