Today’s Prize – the Floral Burst Cut Fold Tuck Die

Before we move on to today’s videos, I wanted to take a minute to introduce you to Spellbinders.

About Spellbinders

As a scrapbooking and craft enthusiast, Stacey Caron identified the market need for one die cutting system that could function in place of several existing tools. She wanted a comprehensive craft tool that would be universal with manufacturers’ existing products, cut, emboss, be portable, and be sturdy enough to withstand the test of time. As a result of Stacey’s entrepreneurial spirit, and her husband Jeff’s creative ingenuity, in 2003 the Wizard Universal Craft Tool was born, along with Spellbinders patented technology Die Templates for cutting, embossing and stenciling.

Spellbinders Paper Arts manufactures, markets and sells the Grand Calibur™ machine, a large format die cutting and embossing machine, and more than 250 patented and patent-pending products under the following trade names: Nestabilities®—nested die templates offering cutting and embossing capability in ¼” and ⅛” increments; Edgeabilities®—versatile edge and detail cutting die templates;Shapeabilities®—the first free-form, shaped die templates, offering the ability to cut or emboss in the center of cards and in any orientation.

Several new collections have been added since 2008, including: Borderabilities® Petite—5½” card making die templates featuring one-cut edges and elegant embossing detail; Borderabilities Grand—12″ scrapbooking die templates to create full-page borders;Shapeabilities Nested Sets – incrementally sized shaped die templates and Nesties®—Nestabilities sets that combine four die template collections for great savings.

In 2010, Spellbinders introduced the Presto Punch™ machine, the first automatic punching and embossing machine, and theGrand Calibur™ die cutting and embossing machine, which can die cut or emboss up to 8¼” wide.

Spellbinders continues to demonstrate ingenuity, integrity and trend setting ideas while remaining a family-owned, customer service oriented business.

Introduction To Spellbinders Cut Fold Tuck Dies

The Cut Fold Tuck dies are a unique concept whereby after you die cut your shape, with a few folds and tucks you’ve got a gorgeous geometric design.

 Round About Gift Box

Our first project for today is tho Round About Gift Box – an open top design allowing you to wrap your contents in cello, tie it with a pretty bow and then tuck it inside your box.  To create this project Sophia uses the Round About Cut Fold Tuck die to create the main decorative element on her bow.  There is a free video tutorial and pdf handout below.

Download the pdf handout here

Supplies

Paper: Green CS, Orange CS, Brown CS – White Wash Collection (Core’dinations); Mellow DP (Basic Grey)

In the Spectacular Spin Card, Sophia emulates the sun in the sky using the Cut Fold Tuck Floral Burst die.  In the picture below that you can see that Sophia has also elaborately decorated the inside of her card using the Floral Burst die.  Paper Crafter’s Library members can watch the video HERE (please note that you need to be logged in first).

Summer Blooms For You Pop Up Card

I would definitely say that this last card has to be my favourite – I just love how Sophia created a pop-up card that incorporated photos of her children.  Can you see the expression on Grandma’s face when she opens this card?  Of course if were me, I’d be tempted to keep it for myself LOL.
