Keep It CASual #4: Bright Lights Big City Card

Happy Monday everyone!  Welcome to another Keep it CASual – our new video tutorial series featuring clean and simple card making.

For today’s card I used some brand new stamps from Hero Arts / Basic Grey.

I created a sponged background using 3 different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks and an ink applicator tool.  I tried to create a look of the sun starting to go down over a big city.  For the stars I used a clear embossing paste through my Simon Says Stamp Falling Stars stencil sprinkled with my clear sparkle embossing glitter from Wow! Embossing.  Because the embossing paste dries clear the effect is very subtle.  It looks so beautiful in real life.

You can watch the video of how I created this card below:

  • Stamps: Bright Lights, Totally, Heydey Sentiments (Hero Arts)
  • Ink: Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Ranger); Black Dye Ink (Simon Says Stamps)
  • Paper: 120 lb White card stock (Simon Says Stamp)
  • Accessories: Ink Applicator Tool (Ranger); Falling Stars Stencil (Simon Says Stamp); Translucent Embossing Paste (Wendy Vecchi), Clear Sparkle Embossing Glitter (Wow! Embossing); Fiskars Compact Stamp Press
