Simon Says Stamp Designer – Debbie Hughes

Today we welcome back a familiar and well-loved designer:  Debbie Hughes. We are so excited to have her showcase her work today on Paper Crafter’s Library. You can see Debbie’s fabulous project below, but first, here is a little more about her:

DebbyHughes-250W-11112015Hi, I’m Debby Hughes, first off let me tell you a little about myself. I’m a stay at home Mum to three great kids.

Born in England, I now live in Scotland where the scenery still takes my breath away even after living here for years.

I have a science background but I have always enjoyed creating and it was in 2005 that I found paper crafts.

My love of the hobby grew and in 2010 I started my blogLime Doodle Design, as a place to share my creations. Nowadays you can also find me on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube

Currently I design for Simon Says Stamp, Online Card Classes and Clearly Besotted Stamps.

Warm Winter Wishes

Hi Debby here. I love the look of falling snow in the backdrop of a scene so I had great fun with this card.

However, I’m getting ahead of myself, to start I stamped the cute little girl and boy and a few accessories for them from Ready Set Snow by Simon Says Stamp with Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copics before die cutting with their matching Ready Set Snow dies. I accented the ear muffs and coat buttons with Stickles and the shoes with Glossy Accents.

While leaving those to dry I cracked on with the background, taking a piece of Lawn Fawn patterned paper and swiping Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste through the Falling Snow stencil from Simon Says Stamp. While the paste was still wet I sprinkled it liberally with Rock Candy Distress Glitter.

For the sentiment panel I cut the Snowflake Border die from white card, rubbed Ranger Multi Medium matte over the snowflake part and dunked in more of the Distress Glitter. Meanwhile I stamped a sentiment from Ready Set Snow in Lipstick Red on the rest of the die cut and when everything was dry it was just a case of adhering the pieces with foam adhesive.

Thank you for joining me today and a big thank you to Paper Crafters Library for having me over 😀
