kellyrasmussenProfilePic-250W-09022015I began making cards over 15 years ago when I was in college and have been addicted ever since. I switched out my day job as a graphic designer to become a stay-at-home mom and have been working with Hero Arts since 2009. Besides making cards I also enjoy shopping, photography, graphic design, baking and spending time with my family and friends. I live in a small town in Nebraska with my husband Lee and three children Halle, Gage and Lexi.

Color Layering Fall Trees

Today I’m excited to feature a new stamp set from Hero Arts called Color Layering Fall Trees. This set consists of a trunk, five dot patterns to make up the leaves on the tree as well as three sentiments. I used various colors of Distress Inks to create the beautiful fall leaves on the tree. I’m anxious to experiment with this set to to see if I can also make a Spring, Summer and Winter tree!

The tree is matted on a piece of watercolor cardstock that I lightly painted with with my Sakura Koi Water Colors. For the bottom layer of the card I white heat embossed the Woodgrain Bold Prints by Lia background on to some kraft cardstock. I love how delicate the lines are on this stamp — it looks great embossed or stamped tone on tone!

I finished off the card with a white heat embossed sentiment and some Glossy Accents drop on the tree.
