Welcome to another Featured Artist/Designer Spotlight. Today we’re thrilled to welcome Gillian Ross. Before we show you Gillian’s project, let’s get to know her a little bit more…

GillianRossProfilePicture-10022014-250HHi, my name is Gillian and I am so honoured to be featured at Paper Crafter’s Library.  I live in Aberdeen, Scotland with my husband Jamie.  My day job is a Quantity Surveyor, not in the least bit creative, so card making in the spare time is my creative outlet.

I started crafting 3 years ago and have been totally bitten by the bug.  When I am not crafting I am fueling my obsession with Pinterest for all things crafty and spending far too much money on new stamp sets and ink.

I am very lucky to be on two super talented design teams, CASology and Uniko Studio.  You can find my blog showcasing my cards at http://madewithsparkle.blogspot.co.uk/

I am very much a ‘clean and simple’ girl, however I didn’t start out that way – my style has just evolved to this over the years.  I am actually very jealous of people that can make beautiful cards with lots of layers and embellishments.  Today I have a card which hopefully showcases my style perfectly.

Happy Birthday Card

For my card I started out with kraft cardstock.  I stamped the background flower stamp in white pigment ink and then over stamped in a bold dye ink.  I love the effect of this on the coloured cardstock.  You can do this on any coloured cardstock, not just kraft.  I then stamped my sentiment in pigment ink also.  Since I didn’t want to add leaves to my flowers, I used green sparkles to create this effect.  To finish, I mounted my cardstock using foam pads onto a white card base.

Supplies
Craftwork Cards – Kraft and White cardstock
Uniko Studio – Flower Power # 6
Stampin’ Up! – Express Yourself
Anita’s Gems – Green Sparkles

We hope you have enjoyed today’s project courtesy of Gillian Ross.  Be sure to stop by Gillian’s blog to see even more of her beautiful work (and let her know we sent you).

Have a great day!

Karen
