bowl of cherries with hovering bee

Ok, so I admit that I am on something of a Silhouette kick.  But I am very excited to show everyone how easy it is to use!  The software has entered my house, and I am just starting to learn it.  In the meantime, I do have a quick card to share with you wich is from my Silhouette.  The cherry bowl and cherries along with the card and labels are fom the Silhouette.  Can you see the delicate little stems?  That is how fine I can get with my machine.  The little bee is from a Cuttlebug die, and is one of my favorite bee images.  The really cool thing is how the bee is mounted to my card.  I created a little spring to attach it.  This way it gets way more lift, and is positionable as well as movable.  The spring itself is so easy to make.  All you need is a fine gage wire which is thin enough to cut with normal scissors.  You also need 6 glue dots and 4 circle paper punch outs.  Simply wrap the wire around a pencil one and a half times around to two and a half times around.  The less turns you do, the less stiff it will be (also more movement will be created when it is not compressed to much).  Next sandwich each end of wire between to circle punch outs, and two glue dots.  Finally attach one paper end to your bee with a glue dot, and the other end to your card with a glue dot.  I know it is kind of hard to see, but the bee really rocks!
have a great day,

  1. I like the sugared cherries, and the bee is cute too! I have done springs before, but a long time ago. Thanks for reminding me!

  2. Super cute card. I LOVE digital cutting machines. I give away a lot of free svg’s away on my blog. Would love for you to stop by sometime and see if you would like to download any of them to use with your Silhouette:)
