Today on the Paper Crafter’s Library blog, we’re continuing our weekly featured artist spotlight whereby each week we spotlight a different artist/designer in the paper crafting & mixed media world and introduce you to their fabulous work.

Today we’re thrilled to welcome – Lisa Addesa

Before we show you Lisa’s fabulous projects, let’s get to know her a little bit more…

620lisaaddessabiopicHi…my name is Lisa Addesa!  I live in Chesapeake, Virginia, a city near Virginia Beach.  I began stamping a long time ago, when stamps and ink were pretty much all there were to stamping.  During the raising of my three children, I gave up stamping and gave all my stamps and inks away!  Four years ago, my then 18yr old daughter and her friend went to a Stampin Up party.  She brought home three cards she had made, and when I saw them, I was hooked, again…and became even MORE passionate than the first time!!  I joined the online stamping community, Splitcoaststampers , and became involved in their  weekly challenges, growing my own little gallery of cards and finding my style.

In 2011, I discovered “blogs” and decided to start one of my own!!  My style of card making is clean and simple as I love clean, simple “looking” design, even though it may not be that simple to create!  I also LOVE bold colors and love using craft dies!!  Dies can add a very cool and fun design element to card making!  Comined with stamps, dies have made card making SO MUCH FUN for me!! I am honored to have had some of my cards published  in Papercrafts Magazine as well as currently being a member of the 2013 Simon Says Stamp Artist Group!!  I am also honored to have been asked to be featured on the  Crafter’s Library this week…thanks so much for the opportunity to share my passion with you!! I have decided to make 2 cards showing you clean and simple design, bold colors and the use of one die two ways (using the remnant of the 1st card for the 2nd card) combined with stamps…all of my favorite things…

Instructions and Supplies used:

Card 1: I cut strips of colored paper and adhere them to some paper(I use lightweight white paper).  I then die cut the “Happy” from the panel of striped papers, and adhere the word to layers of light chipboard.   versamarked the Birthday Words stamp and placed the white panel on the inked stamp, then clear emboss.  Lastly, I popped up the panel on card and add “Happy” die cut.

Card 2:

Using the cut out of the 1st card, cut it into rectangle and stamped the “birthday” underneath the “Happy” .  Pop up the panel on black paper and then adhered the whole panel on white card. Two cards with 2 very different looks, yet using the same die and even the same striped paper…fun, right?!

  2. Both of these cards are beautiful but simple designs with the “wow” factor. Love the diecut “Happy” but was unable to determine the manufacturer from the description. Would love to know.

  3. What happy, bold colors on these cards. They’d make anyone’s day receiving them in the mail.
