Freebie Friday Winner & A Video Tutorial For You

Things have been busy here at Paper Crafter’s Library as we are gearing up for a whirlwind of exciting collaborations and spotlights with a variety of different manufacturers within the paper crafting industry.  Each of the collaborations and spotlights will feature some awesome give-aways as well as LOTS and LOTS of project inspiration, and TONS of FREE video tutorials, along with some extra special projects for our Paper Crafter’s Library members as well.

We’re kicking things off Monday morning with our week long collaboration with Graphic 45. We’re super excited because we’ve never worked with them before, and they are a top-notch company with top-notch products!  Throughout the course of next week we’ll be sharing over 10 different projects with you using the Tropical Travelogue collection – including a tag, a card, card set, scrapbook layout, a couple of mini albums, a few altered art pieces, an art journaling page and some mixed media canvases. And, as I mentioned above, we’ll have an abundance of free video tutorials for you on a range of different projects and techniques.  The week after that, we’ll be spotlighting Ranger ink, and we’ll have somewhere around 10 free video tutorials for you as well.

Of course because we’ve been spending so much time creating videos for the next number of weeks, and because we’ll be doing a TON of giveaways over the next few months, we decided to take a break from our regular “Freebie Friday” programming, and simply announce the winner of last week’s give-away.

BUT because we wanted to leave you with some inspiration for the weekend, we decided to pull one of our complimentary videos out of Paper Crafter’s Library and showcase it here. Did you know that Paper Crafter’s Library has an abundance of information and inspiration even for non-members? In fact, if you visit our VIDEO LIBRARY page, look for all the categories that say “this section contains one or more complimentary videos” and click on them to see what free videos we have.

The card below is one example of the the free video tutorials that we offer at the Paper Crafter’s Library.  You can view a video for this card and download the pdf handout from here.

Product Spotlight & Freebie Friday: My Mind’s Eye Mischievous Collection….Enter to Win!

The Mischievous Collection by My Mind’s Eye is one of those paper lines that you have got to love!  With a nice vintage feel, perfect for Halloween, Thanksgiving or even a variety of other themes (although some of the elements are good only for Halloween), you will find it to be the perfect choice for your projects.

Today we have created a series of projects to highlight the beauty of this collection. We have put together a free video tutorial and pdf handout for BOTH the small popcorn box, and the scalloped treat bag. The Lollypop box is a Paper Crafter’s Library exclusive available as a Silhouette cut file, or as a downloadable PDF to Paper Crafter’s Library members only.  All the projects are simple yet elegant, and can easily be adapted to other holidays.

We are also giving away the My Mind’s Eye Mischievous Collection pack you see pictured above to ONE lucky winner…..more details on how to enter at the end of this post!

This cute simple popcorn box uses a silhouette cut file.  You can find it under the search for “Mini Popcorn Box“.  Paired with the Mischievous Chipboard element pumpkin and paper,  a little Pearl Glimmer Mist, Rock Candy Stickles and Stardust Stickles, you have the perfect recipe for a fast and beautiful halloween/thanksgiving favor box. You can watch the free video and download the handout from HERE. There are two parts to the video – the first shows you how to manipulate the file in your Silhouette Studio Software and then sent it to the printer, the second part shows the assembly and decoration of the box.

If dies are more your thing, then you will love pairing this little Scalloped bag with the My Mind’s Eye Mischievous paper line.  With one pass of your die machine, and half a piece of the patterned paper, you will have the pieces for this adorable bag.  Add with that the Tim Holtz Tattered Banners and Mini Rosette die, and you have everything you need for your next get-together.  Other things used:  Distress ink in Walnut Stain, Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves (last two part of the Tim Holtz seasonal limited edition), Chipboard Mischievous elements, Dimensionals Pearls in Espresso and Gold Pearl, Glimmer Mist in Pinecone and Raven, and some Hook and Loop closures by Tombow.  You can watch the free video and download the pdf handout here.

This lollipop box is perfect for showing off some spooky skull treats.  Whether you want to use it for halloween, or whether you want to use it for any other holiday to show off some gourmet lollipops, you will find this box to be well recieved by any lucky recipient.  This box was designed on my Silhouette.  The skulll  opening must be purchased throught Silhouette, and added to the template design.  All instructions are given on the accompanying PDF.  If you do not own the Silhouette, then you will be able to print out the design for your personal use.  This design is a Papercrafter Library Exclusive, and only members will be able to access the video, instructions and cut files.

 Supplies:

  • Silhouette: Halloween Skull Frame (if you do not own the silhouette, then follow the provided option in the downloadable template)
  • Ink:  Vintage Photo Distress ink
  • Paper:  Mischievous paper, Basic Black CS, acetate
  • Other:  Silhouette machine (optional), Tombow  multi-purpose adhesive, Fabri-tac, 1/8″ hole punch, Mischievous Chipboard elements, Lollypops

Calendar & Note Pad Tin Video Tutorial & PDF Handout

A little late, but finally here!  As promised I’ve put together a free video tutorial on how to create my 2012 Calendar and Note Pad Tin.

The tin is 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ x 3/8″.  I had both the calendars and the note pads custom designed to fit inside the tin. The tin pictured on the left is the original one I am selling as a kit on the Sunny Stampin’ Blog. I’m also selling the calendars, the note pads, and the tins in bundles of 5 for any of you who want to create these tins in bulk (or offer it as a class if you are a retailer or instructor).

In the top picture you can see the tin I re-created using all Stampin’ Up! products.  We have a free video tutorial and pdf handout in the video library, which you access HERE.
