Free Project of The Week: Washi Tape Birthday Card – 02 15 2013

By Tracy Wegener
Friday, February 15th, 2013

This week for our Free Project of the Week we’ve got another quick and easy Washi Tape card for you.  Washi tape is one of those products that’s incredibly versatile as well as fun to use.  It comes in a multitude of colors, it’s not very expensive and it’s super easy to use.  In order to create this card I simply chose some complimentary colors of Washi tape in a variety of different patterns and then overlapped and layered them in differing lengths. If you don’t own any washi tape you can substitute with ribbon or patterned paper strips – they’ll just be a little more bulky.  Also, if you do substitute one of these items you’ll need to stamp your greeting differently as it won’t stamp cleanly over top multiple layers of ribbon or patterned paper.

Free Project of The Week: Happy Birthday Card – 02 08 2013

By Andrea Walford
Friday, February 8th, 2013

Are you happy it’s Friday?  I sure am although we’re having a crazy snowstorm here.  All the buses have been cancelled and the schools are closed so all five of my kids are home today. Thankfully at the moment they’re pretty occupied by playing with each other. I’m hoping that keeps up as it’s still a regular work day for me here in the studio. Inevitably though I’m sure that as the day progresses they’ll get more and more restless and the running and wrestling and yelling will gain momentum…how can it not with four boys? LOL I guess that’s when it’s time to kick them outside to play in the snow right?

I love today’s project – first off because the colors make me happy.  It’s white, drab and windy outside but the yellow and orange colors of the card remind me of summer and really warm me up.  The other reason I love this card is because it’s a great way to use up all those pre-printed, pre-decorated cards you get when you buy those 12 x 12 collection kits.  I always seem to have so many of them left over.  This card shows you how easy it is to use them as a focal point for your card, as well as how you can adapt them if the sentiments aren’t suitable for a card.

Thanks Washi Tape Video Tutorial

By Andrea Walford
Friday, January 25th, 2013

I have created several cards using Washi tape for Paper Crafter’s Library in the last little while.  I find that Washi tape is a nice easy way to dress up your paper crafting projects.  While I used various colors and patterns of Washi tape, you can always substitute patterned paper or ribbon for the Wahsi tape to complete this card.

Project Ideas Newsletter – Just Because

By Tracy Wegener
Wednesday, January 9th, 2013

For today’s Project Ideas Newsletter I created this Just Because card.  The layout of this card is a great way to use up those scrap pieces of designer paper that we all have laying around.  The rounded corners on the bottom of the card and the beautiful Satin ribbon bow add those final touches to the card.

Newsletter subscribers will have received a link to a private web page, from which they can watch the video tutorial for this Just Because card. Please note that the video tutorial will be available for general viewing for one week only – and then will be moved into our library for our members only. You Light Up My Life Card Video Tutorial

By Andrea Walford
Friday, January 4th, 2013

Happy New Year!  All of us here at Paper Crafter’s Library wish all of you, our readers, and your families and very Happy New Year.  We are looking forward to a very exciting and inspiring new year and hope that you are too!

You Light Up My Life Card

I find that I often struggle to make masculine themed cards.  As I was going through my Papertrey Ink stamp sets, I came across this Lighten Up stamp set and came up with a brilliant idea.  I used the lamp image and greeting from this set, along with the “rays” from the Nativity Silhouettes stamp set to create this You Light Up My Life card.  This card would be great for that special someone for Valentine’s Day, an Anniversary or just because.

Washi Tape is something that I find I am drawn to.  There are so many pretty colors and patterns out there I just can’t resist.  For today’s project I decided to pull out my stash of Washi Tape and this is what I came up with – this Birthday Washi Tape card.  I added that final bit of bling by coloring some clear rhinestones to match the two colors of Washi Tape.

By Andrea Walford
Thursday, December 27th, 2012

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends!   Today I would like to show you a project I created for Paper Crafter’s Library members a few weeks ago.  As I walked through the isles of my local dollar store I saw these kraft colored paper mache boxes.  While the box itself was nothing special, my mind starting thinking about all the ways I could embellish this it and turn it into a beautiful box to house a special gift.  I embellished this particular box with felt flowers that I created, along with some tulle ribbon and various greenery stems that were purchased from my local craft store.

We have a video for our members here. (You must be logged in to view the video)

Supplies:

Paper: Whisper White CS (Stampin’ Up!)

By Tracy Wegener
Friday, December 21st, 2012

With Love

I had so much fun creating this card.  I have now moved on from my Christmas creating and decided to work in the pink tones!  The Artisan chipboard embellishments made it really easy to create this card.  With the addtion of a few rhinestones (I just love glitter and bling!) my card just came together!

Peace and Joy Video Tutorial

By Tracy Wegener
Friday, December 14th, 2012

With Christmas just around the corner, we were very excited this week to release the Family Heirloom Printer’s Tray along with more Christmas card ideas!

Peace and Joy

This card is a great example of using stamps that you already have on hand for other purposes. The ornaments on this card were created using a balloon  image stamp. By stamping the balloons in traditional Christmas colors and turning them upside down, they make great ornaments, allowing for your stamps to be used in various or not tradional ways.
